Before the start of the Fall Semester, eBITS released updates to the My Tuition Bill website focused on improving the tuition payment experience for UT students. The project team relied on User Experience (UX) research methodologies, including surveys, testing, and interviews involving UT staff, students, and parents. The UX focus of the project allowed the updated site to include new tools to assist students in managing their tuition payments while providing a more straightforward, mobile-friendly interface. Along with achieving the primary goal of improving the tuition payment process, the streamlined site also included improvements for the administrative and technical side of the tuition payment process by reducing the number of questions from students attempting to pay their tuition bill online and making the site easier to maintain in the future. Another benefit stemming from the focus on UX principles is that the processes and methodologies developed for this project will support future projects as part of our commitment to user-centric solutions. eBITS completed the new My Tuition Bill website to support recommendations by the Tuition Payment Deadline and Funds Flow (TPFF) Working Group, which included stakeholders from across the UT community. Other items on the eBITS Roadmap, including the new Financial Responsibility Statement (FRS) and numerous changes to Student Financial Systems, were also made supporting the working group’s recommendations.
